Software update help

Hello all

Firstly, apologies if this on the wrong forum and if this is long winded

I have checked for a software update. My HTC is currently on 7.19.401.30. an update is available, version 7.19.401.51. But it won't install, it's keeps rebooting , stays with old version, and then asking me to reinstall this newer version.

My phone isn't rooted. So any help with what I need to do will be greatly appreciated.

I'm having problems with Android Pay. I suspect it might have something to do with my software update. The error I'm getting when trying to add debit cards is below

"Android Pay can't be used. Google is unable to verify that your device or the software running on it is Android Compatible. Dismiss"

Are you certain your phone is stock? Did you purchase it new from a retailer, or used from a private party?

Originally was from 02 , not bought privately. I did try a factory reset . No luck. I also tried the Root checker apps off play store . It says my phone is not rooted.
