HTC car dock for M8 - problem with bluetooth for hands free phone use

I have the HTC car dock for the M8 (HTC One (M8) CAR D190 Car-kit) - I love everything about it, including how it mounts, auto-connects to the CAR app, and launches Bluetooth. Only issue I am now having (and it was not happening at first) is that the hands-free phone feature (routing phone calls to the car speakers via the Bluetooth connection) no longer works. The CAR app shows the incoming call, allows me to answer it, but the sound continues to come in through the phone speakers, not the car speakers. I'm 99% sure that it worked properly when i first bought the dock. Music and GPS comes through the car speakers just fine. Has anyone else had this problem? Any thoughts for resolving it?

On the phone itself, while on a call, if you push the Bluetooth icon (where speakerphone icon usually is) it will give you options for audio output. If your car isn't listed, your phone isn't paired correctly. Unpair it, reboot, then pair again. It should fix it.
