Yes 4.4.3 is worth the update. I have learned to always clear cache and factory reset when updating android.

If you are only updating your rom with the same base you can get away without wiping. But when going to a different base you need to do a full wipe or expect trouble.

Ok thank you benny3, I flashed the 4.4.3 gpe rom and after I flashed I get a system update message for 4.4.4. Should I update to 4.4.4?

Did you flash the Captains rom? The OP says its 4.4.4

Yes I did flash captain's gpe rom but it was not the 4.4.4 gpe rom. I flashed the older 4.4.3 gpe rom because I thought the 4.4.4 gpe rom would not work on my HTC One M8 4.4.3. So now what do I do? Do I flash the new 4.4.4 gpe rom or update to 4.4.4?
