Default HTC One (M8): Always listening voice commands?

Great phone! Cannot figure out how to get the "always listening" function to work. This is supposed to have the function to say "Ok, Google now..." even with the phone off, right?

The M8 does not have the always listening function like on the Moto X.
It does have "tap the screen" to wake the device though.

This is really too bad! I think this is a killer feature of the Moto X and was really hoping HTC was going to implement something like this in the M8.

Wow that sucks. I really like this feature on my note 3.

BAH! I was really looking forward to that. I was sure I read somewhere that the processor in it has a specific function to do the always listening mode with minimum battery drain...that fantastic potential is just going unused? Seems a waste to me.

I do like the phone...though I'm coming back from a Windows phone that drove me absolutely crazy.

The processor does have similar functionality. It has a "sensor hub" that can be accessed with limited drain to the battery. The only thing I can see that it is implemented in now is the fitbit app as a pedometer. Typically you would need fitbit hardware to sync with the app, now with the M8 you can use the device itself as a pedometer without having to keep the app open and it automatically syncs.

The HTC One M8 does have always listening capabilities and does work when the screen is off/standby. Download the "Open Mic +" app from the play store.
