as far as i know,it can be a process that is running in the background that keeps waking you're phone up,it wont let the phone go to deep sleep,i could be wrong since i just switched from ios to android a few weeks ago,but that's just what i see people saying

I'm on T mobile with great coverage and I still have average battery life. It gets me through the day so I won't complain, but it isn't stellar like a lot of people seem to be getting.

Update:

So improvement but took work: reset the battery logic through a method HTC support told me, have turned off 4G when there's WiFi and turned on 4G when WiFis bad plus I'm not what you would call a heavy user. Now if Verizon stopped being such tools and have me a power saving mode I'd be more content

My results have been similar to the OP. Here is my results from today. My battery results are very similar on either ART or Delvik runtime.

What was the method to reset the battery logic that HTC told you?

Basically you charge the phone for at least 10 mins then power it down and hold the power button and the volume buttons down for 2 mins. The phone will kind of keep power cycling. After 2 minutes let go and turn the phone on then charge it to 100%

Did this but when I booted the phone back up it was at 100% from 45%

Edit: Another reboot fixed it.

Turns out that power cycling trick worked wonders for me. Wow. Never been able to go a day on a charge with any smartphone I've had, no matter the kernel or mod I used. The screen on time is solid enough I suppose. Great improvement from what I was getting before either way. Never got past 16hrs.

Medium usage just about. A lot of texts and social networking. No games really. Few videos. On WiFi mostly also.

Was hoping you guys could help me out with this one. I bought this phone a week ago and have had consistently bad battery life. I'm a phone addict, I've had the G2, Xperia Z1S, Galaxy Note 3, Lumia Icon, etc. in the past few months so I know a bit about phone usage. This HTC battery issue is puzzling to me and I'm thinking I may have a defective unit. I took a screenshot of my GSAM readout, I'd like to note that I was not gaming or watching videos. Strictly web browsing, texting and a short 5 minute call or so. Any thoughts?

It's quite high but I think the answer is in your app usage at 52.1%

I haven't tried factory resetting yet. That readout was about 5 days in. Things are getting better, but the screen on time is still pretty weak.
