I have all my apps closed I stay on WiFi and if I leave my phone on during the night without playing with it I drop 12% is that normal? Or is their something powerful running in the background that I don't know about?

Eventhough 12% is a little high losing battery charge is pretty normal. I lose around 5% in 8 hours.

I used to only lose 2-3 % overnight when my phone was close to stock.

Now I'm losing about 10% with all the apps I have installed.

I close all my apps and turn on airplane mode through the night. I lose around 2-3% this way. Otherwise I lose between 6-12 %

What does your reception look like in the house? Bad reception plays a big role in battery life.

Try turning WiFi OFF while sleeping over night and see how much drain you have.
I run SystemPannel and noticed the majority of the time my device is connected to WiFi my CPU usage hovers at 30%..
However if i go to sleep without WiFi being ON it drops to 3-5% over night.
Im leaning towards it having to be a bug of some sort.

My wifi and data is off today, and I unplugged at 7am, and it's 2:30 PM, and I'm at 80%!

Why not either leave it plugged in or turn it off or both?

True, 1 bar of signal can drain your battery 20-30% more. Because i tried to drain my phone with just youtube looping a video and now it's almost 7 hours of youtube al through.

Agreed. I've found that where I leave my phone in my apartment overnight will greatly affect how much battery loss I experience overnight.
