    Hello Everyone,
I have a grey 32GB HTC One M8, wich Ive bought from a internet seller (sort of E-bay in my country) but I dont know wich version did I got (verizon unlocked, AT&T, Unbranded, Google Play, Dev?)
Is there a way to find out wich one is?

I'd like to know wich version it is, because it has version of software 1.12.422.19 and when I check for updates it says there is no updates available. Being factory unlocked, I thought it should have updates available but it doesnt. Maybe its unlocked AT&T or something like that and thats why, not using one of those Sims, I'm not getting the update?

It should be unlocked i think, for I had no trouble at all with my Sim except for having to configure manually internet (my Operator is Personal Argentina).

    Data:
It came in a sealed box.
Works perfectly on 3G in Argentina.
It came with Polaris Office 5.
No "google play" logo on the box, nor AT&T or any other brand marked visible on the box.
    Its grey

The seller doesn't know wich version it is neither, he only knows it "came from USA"
    Thanks in advance!

Ok go into settings - about - phone identity. It will give you info like imei and a serial number. Try googling the serial number (or imei) and it might tell you which version you have

I googled both (serial and IMEI), no results.

Ok maybe try downloading an identifier app from the play store. These type of apps will give you also sorts of info on your phone

It looks it's an unlocked unbranded version isn't it? Still, no updates.

Three months later still no updates. I've chatted with HTC and they tell me I have the latest version, still waiting but sincerely I could not recommend this brand to whomever wants fasts updates, and I've spend 700usd for that to no avail.

That's because you have the Verizon version. After doing a Google search on your software version, 1.12.422.19, it appears to be a Verizon. Which means you will only get updates from them.

Your best option for getting the latest software is probably going to be rooting and flashing a custom Rom, seeing as how you are not using this on the Verizon network.

You should have taken you're $700 and made sure it was an unlocked version. This is not HTCs fault.

That was unnecessarily hostile. The guy bought a phone online. Sometimes it's hard to know what version it is.

    Geez.

The best thing to do right now is boot into the bootloader and get the CID. You can do that with fastboot and this cmd. "fastboot oem getvar all" if it isn't already on the bootloader screen

Well I'm sorry if it sounded hostile, that was not my intention. My intention was to educate the op for next time!

Yeah, or use this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...idgetter&hl=en if unfamiliar with fastboot and such.
