Google Now Launcher on HTC One M8

Google Now Launcher support appears to be coming to more devices | Android Central

I'm puzzled by this article. Apparently the Google now her is now compatible with the M8. But don't I already have it? Is this describing where I swipe up on the home button and Google now shows? Or is this something else?

This is something else, unless you have the Developer Edition M8, in which case yes, you already have this. But the added compatibility is now with non-developer phones, where you can use the Google Now Launcher as a Launcher replacement for your phone if you like the feel of 'vanilla' Android.

A totally different launcher that puts Google Now on the furthest to the left screen. This would replace your Sense Launcher (but not the Sense UI in menus, notifications, etc) and/or Blinkfeed, if you're using that. It's similar to applying a custom launcher, like Nova Launcher.

didn't work with my m8 on Verizon....but I sideloaded it, and it works fine. but nova prime is MUCH better.

Strange, my M8 on Verizon was able to load it from Google Play and I'm running it now.

I put it on my LG G3 for AT&T and no Calendar widgets are coming up. Any reason why?

Works on my M8 ATT. without any problems. Kinda nice to have the features again after switching from moto-x dev unit.

Don't see the point of it. I can activate Google now from any screen on my M8 anyway, even the locked screen. Sure you only have to slide up from the home button to see Google now cards

It's not Google Now. It replaces your stock launcher, much like Nova or Apex, with Google Now built in. Just download and give it a try...
