Stop my M8 from mounting as a CD ROM on my Mac.

I have an HTC One M8 and every time I plug it into my Macbook Pro, it mounts the HTC Sync Manager installer (which is old and invalid for my Mac) as a CD-ROM. I want to STOP THIS FROM HAPPENING! but I can't figure out how. I have Googled to the best of my ability and all I can find is people who WANT their phone to mount automatically when they plug it in.

Stopping HTC Sync Manager from autostarting go to Preferences > Users & Groups, then click on your user and remove HTC Sync Manager from your Login Items.
