Does anyone else have an HTC One M8 that has this problem?

Here's a Video: https:// drive .google. com/file/d/0By2KzVde6Q4Ed1VEQ05qUFcwZDA/view?usp=sharing (remove the spaces)

The touch screen mis-registers the touch location, usually above or below the actual contact point.

I've performed multiple wipes & resets....

I've had Verizon send me *THREE* Warranty replacements, and they all do the exact same thing. It doesn't seem like a software problem, as the phone even did it at the "Welcome" activation screen after a hard wipe.

The tech support folks got HTC on the line and they asked me to ship them the phone so they could repair it - 2 week turnaround time.

Could there be a bad batch of these out there?

I am having the exact same problem and it is driving me crazy. I'm sending nonsensicle text messages because it registers random letters and hits the send button for me.

I also have the same problem.. if you turn on the visual feedback (settings/developer options - check Show touches) you can see that the random touches only happen along the vertical axis, randomly, both above and below where your actually touching.. I have found that holding your finger down on the screen until all the dots go away will give you temporary relief from this issue, however, i don't know what causes it, or how to permanently remove it. if someone would come up with a permanent fix i would be eternally grateful... er at least till i move on to a different phone ;)

I have the same problem with my E8.
But I noticed one thing - this usually happens during charging or right after it.
And I see you phone is also being charged in your video.
So it looks like an electric problem to me (like a charge accumulates somewhere inside the device/screen).

Please let me know if you get anything from HTC support.

I have had this problem on previous touchscreen phones when using a charger that is not suitable for that phone. It would always go away once I took the phone off the charger.

Interesting to stumble across this thread. I have an M9 and I have been experiencing the same phenomenon as the OP did with his M8. I will be playing Clash of Clans and attempt to deploy troops in one location, only to have it drop a spell or deploy the wrong units in the wrong location. It also has happened when composing a text and when entering the lock screen pin. The last post mentions an incompatible charger, and it has happened most often when connected to my laptop. I am going to do some more testing and see if I can find out how to enable "Show Touches".

I guys,

I have been experiencing the same issue yesterday.
I have a HTC ONE M8 and bought a universal micro usb charger with 2.0A output.
When charging it goes randomly touching like crazy (also in CoC as one of the posters, almost bought me a weekshield by mistake).
Once the charger is taken off the effect dissapears.
I do not have this issue with 0.75a, 1a, 1.50a chargers.

My 2 cents on this behaviour.

I also have the same problem. But I have noticed that it happens only on 2g network. So I have put my phone on 3g only mode. It's working fine now.
