HTC Updates in Google Play Store

I am just wondering should I update the HTC apps through the play store, especially the Lock Screen, Sense Home, Sense Input and Service Pack. The ratings and comments do not match and I am wondering if those will have a major impact in my M8, not yet update to Android 5 Lollipop. Or should I wait until I update my phone to update those apps. Any comments or suggestions are welcomed.

There are updates for the Clock, Camera, Internet, File Manager, Gallery and Video Chat as well.

I've done it and had little to no issue. That's one of the nice things about HTC, they update all this outside of a firmware update.

Thanks. Did you have to restart or wipe cache or anything?

You'll get prompted to reboot after the app update if it needs a reboot. Cache clear isn't really needed, it's just like any other app update you get really.

You'll have to reboot after the HTC Lock Screen update. That's it though.
