"Variant system version" message when updating my HTC one M8

Hi I just switched my iphone to HTC one M8 and it has been great. However, when I tried to update the system, it always showed this phone has a "variant system version" and would not let me install. I entered the bootloader screen and it shows me this:

LOCKED
M8_UL CA PVT SHIP S-ON
HBOOT-3.19.0.0000
RADIO-1.2421331147A1.09G
OpenDSP-v48.2.2-00564-M8974_FO.1211
OS-4.16.1540.8
eMMC-boot 2048MB
Jan 6 2015,00:38:22.1

I bought this phone on ebay and the seller indicated it's an unlocked phone. Anyone knows how to solve this problem so I can update the system? Thanks a lot!

i too am having the same problem. how in the world do we revert back to the orginial. i cant find anywhere that will help. PLEASE HOW DO YOU FIX THIS PROBLEM! someone please reply
