M9 problems when on 4G and transitioning

Hey

Me and my gf both bought new M9's through our local carrier and are experiencing exactly same problems.

The problem is that everytime 4G is turned ON, sooner or later SMS and internet will stop working and every time I need to do a reset or do the ON/OFF on the airplane mode - after that everything works again on the 4G immediately. To me it looks like this is some bug with 4g transitioning to 3g/2g and for some reason it "stucks" there and can't do the transition. As soon as 4G is disabled, everything works normally.

This happens on daily basis, on multiple locations and is becoming very annoying as obviously we want to use the 4G network as well. Our carrier told us to send it to local warranty repair centre but I'm not sure how they could do anything since it's affecting every phone as it seems and this sounds like an HTC bug.

Is someone else experiencing this as well?

Just bought + has problem = bring it back. Don't waste your time trying to fix something that someone else should be wasting his time fixing. (If the manufacturers got back enough bad phones, instead of people assuming that they have to keep the phone and put up with the problem, the manufacturers would spend a little of their profit on quality assurance - which they seem to consider to be a waste of money these days.)

Might be helpful if give your location and carrier, should there be someone else in the same location that was able to resolve it. Also, describing how you are disabling and enabling 4G might be useful. It sounds like you are switching towers. Could be an APN issue.

This is absolutely useless to the op. Maybe its a carrier problem. Maybe its a simple setting. Maybe you should offer a little help rather than putting down a phone you don't have and don't plan on getting and don't have any earthly idea what the problem may be.

I've seen a few other posters having similar problems. 2 on Vodafone, and one on Sprint. Unfortunately, they didn't post they're solutions (if they even found them) in the forums. I'm at work right now, but I'll edit with a link to their threads when I get home if I can find them.

I am on Simobil Slovenia. As for disabling 4g, what I meant was I switch to only 2g/3g in network settings.

Playaz, I recently put on this forum that I had a problem similar to yours in that i could not send texts when on 4g. I could on on 3g, this was with or without wifi being on. I am with Vodafone

In the end I took the phone back to Vodafone and they sent it away, three days later I got a call to say they were replacing it. I have had the replacement phone for a couple of weeks and no longer have this problem.

Were you not able to send texts all the time while on 4G or just occasionally? Did they ever figure out what the problem was?

I could not send a text whenever I was on 4g, I tried this in different areas and it was still the same problem. If I switched to 3g there was no problem at all. If I took the phone of the network and then put it back on to it (via airplane mode or just trying to link to another network) it would work for one or two texts then would stop. I changed the sim card and re - set the phone none of which made a difference.

The repair team gave me no explanation as to why it happened they just sent me back a new phone. I am no expert but did spend quite a bit of time looking into this and my very uneducated view is that the phone had a problem switching from 4g to 3g. When I made a call you can see the phone icons at the top switching from 4 to 3g so it worked for calls but did not for texts.

As I said I am no expert and that opinion may well be absolute b******* but that is how it appeared to me...............I hope that helps
