I need some help here, as stated, my first move was to charge my phone, but I didn't touch it, didn't try to restart it or anything. Don't want to do anything until I hear some advice or instruction on what do to...

The damage , if any, is already done . What you do afterwards doesn't matter. Now the question is what happened to your phone, a total brick, still recoverable by flashing a factory firmware or nothing bad happened. You just have to charge and power on the phone to find out.

Or bring the phone to the carrier, tell them what happened and ask if they can reflash the update. That way all your data will be safe. Reflashing the entire firmware wipes all your data.

I thought the phone wouldn't even allow you to update unless you had at least 50% battery or something like that?
