System version update problem

Hi everyone!

My m9 works with 6.0 Android version and there is a system update availiable, after I dowload it this message displayed on screen:
Variant system version We have determined that your phone may be running a modified version of ts system software. For your protection, we cannot update your phone. Please revert your phone to the official HTC system software to update your phone. If you did not modify your system software or would ike help reverting your system, please contact us via the support section at HTC United States.

Which carrier are you on? Did you get the phone from that carrier, or was it unlocked from another carrier? If you didn't buy it directly from a wireless store, it's possible the seller might have rooted and flashed the phone with a different ROM beforehand.

I bought it on Aliexpress. It was unlocked and refurbished.

That's probably what happened, then. Here's a link on how to restore an M9 to stock, but it's pretty involved, and requires rooting: How to Restore HTC One M9 to Stock You may just want to contact Aliexpress and ask for an exchange or refund, if it's enough of a problem for you.
