HTC One M9 Emails not downloading automatically

[AC Question]

I have an HTC One M9 and my emails do not download/sync automatically.

I have to go into the mail icon for the emails to download.

I have my emails setting to download/sync email every 5 mins, but it is not working.

Is there something else i need to do or have i set up my email incorrectly?

Thanks for the question. Can you provide me a few more details?

1. Is it the stock HTC mail client or something like the gmail app?
2. Is the email account a corporate account or just a personal email?
3. Which version of Android is your M9 on?
