HTC One Mini only plays music (on headsets) out of on ear!

My new HTC One Mini has audio problems- it only plays music on headsets from one ear. I tried to reset it but the reset didn't work. However, I left the phone closed for a really long time and the first time I tried it, it worked. However, once I tried testing other headsets, it instantly went back to being not working again. Can anyone explain how to fix it and why it is like this?

Welcome to Android Central! Make sure there isn't any lint or other debris caught in the headphone jack. Use a damp toothpick to root around, or a can of compressed air to blow it out.

Doesn't really sound like a software problem--I would lean more toward a problem with the jack itself. How old is the phone? Is it under warranty, or can you exchange it at the store where you bought it?

I bought it only a couple of weeks ago at Kogan but can you explain why the problem in the first post happens? Thanks!

The fact that it's mostly playing from one ear, but occasionally plays from both ears, suggests to me that there's a loose or faulty connection related to the jack.

Okay, thanx for your response, I am going to return the phone on its warranty.
