If you want a simple way to return to the stock ROM and also be able flash back the stock radio and recovery then this may be for you.

XDA member migascalp gave me the idea of packaging stock ROMs with the aroma installer and include the ability to flash the stock recovery also as sort of a poor mans RUU since so many still are S-on and cannot properly run a RUU.

I have been making these for a few different versions depending on if we have the stock recovery, so mainly only major versions with a full stock dump or RUU.
See here: Collection of HTC One Graphical Reset Downloads. Stock Rom + recovery

While you can flash these roms on any M7_U or M7_UL, they are made to match the version base and respective device type.
Also note that these packages do not update any firmware. However when you choose to install the stock recovery you will then be able to get OTA updates (If applicable for the version) after locking your bootloader. ** Remember that you must have an unlocked bootloader to install a recovery (custom or stock) so make sure you bootloader is unlocked if you are going to choose the install the stock recovery during the install.

**Also note that for OTA updates to work properly you must have the stock or matching CID for the version of the ROM. Same goes for MID.

Many have already used these packages to get back to stock and get OTA's or for returning for service, but I never got around to making a post for them, so here it is. Also before using you can check out the full collection of return to stock items in the Collection Thread and Return To Stock Guide Thread.

You simply flash these in recovery (CWM/TWRP) like installing any other rom.

Here is a video Demo of the install. This demo is of the AT&T OTA but the install and procedure is the same. I will update this video for the roms in the this thread later:

Here are the screen shots of the Aroma Installer. Sorry for some the bad edits, its really hard to get a good pic taken manually at bootloader or recovery:

I test each of these packages myself thoroughly before posting. However I make no guarantee's on the subject of OTA's because I do not use them, but many of the users of these packages report on the success of that aspect.

You should re-lock your bootloader to accept OTA updates.
Here are the instructions.
As long as you chose to install the stock recovery and didn't add root, all you should have to do is re-lock your bootloader after this and you will be almost out of the box stock. You can re-lock your bootloader with this fastboot command if you are S-On:

Code:
fastboot oem relock

If you are S-Off then you can use this command:

Code:
fastboot oem lock

Remember that is you are S-On and re-lock your bootloader, it will say RELOCKED instead of LOCKED.
If you are S-Off then you should be able to get to Locked with the use of revone for older hboots:
Code:
revone -l

OR by using this method if S-Off:
[how to] lock/unlock your bootloader without htcdev(s-off required) - xda-developers

Also if you chose to flash the stock recovey during the rom install, and your phone doesn't boot or you experience any other issues remember you will have to reload your custom recovery via fastboot:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img

I will continue to make more of these and I would prefer to keep it to roms for which we have a full stock dump, but the requests are overwhelming for just about everything, so I may start with some popular carrier versions based off of user submitted backups or stock rom only dumps.

You should choose the version that matches your firmware. Your firmware version can be found from a
Code:
fastboot getvar all

However certain conditions don't require that the version match. For instance if you just need a stock ROM to do a SIM Unlock or need a stock ROM to gain S-off with rumrunner, just about any of the 2.24 stock ROMs can be used.

How would I go about doing this for a CSpire (Cellular South) HTC One? My bootloader is unlocked, rooted with Stock ROM and using TWRP. I did not take a backup before the root was added (didn't think it would be this difficult to undo ._.).
My boot menu says:
M7_WLS PVT SHIP S-ON RH
HBoot-1.54.0000
RADIO-1.00.20.0725
OS-2.04.563.2

I had to use the Sprint TWRP and SuperSU to get the root. I'm not sure if I can use the Sprint files above or not? I don't believe I can. I'm currently on 4.2.2. I thought about doing the 4.3 OTA but I'm not sure if it would stick or mess something up. I've seen some people say that it will just get rid of the root, which is what I want, and I have seen some say it'll screw up my phone. Any suggestions?

That is an interesting predicament. While the CSpire variant shares the same partition layout as sprint, the software and firmware is slightly different.
I can tell you the OTA won't work because it requires the stock recovery and if you have TWRP it won't install.
Without original CSpire files, I am not sure what to advise. Do you have the CSpire OTA file?
If so you should be able to flash that and then accept the OTA and be all good.

I do not. I'm not sure how I would go about getting them. I definitely wouldn't have rooted if I had done more research. Lesson learned. I was going to install Cyanogenmod through Goomanager but CM will not download through that anymore ._.

I decided to go with a custom ROM and just deal with it. Installed Cyanogenmod 10.1 with Gapps, no cellphone service. So I'm assuming the radio files are different between Sprint and CSpire. I guess if I wait on 4.2.2 long enough someone will put out a stock CSpire recovery ._.

Unless you flashed a radio it should be what came with the phone. If anything the APN's got messed up. Have contacted CSpire and see if they can re-provision the phone

Hi

After working on my phone for 3 days now i thought this would be a good solution, but through CWM, and TWRP i cant get it to work.

The only ROM i've managed to sucessfully install, and load is VnOneDualSIM422_Clean. This gets my phone up and running, but battery life is horrendous, and many apps etc.. dont work correctly - looks like its native language is chinese.

I have tried Guru Reset M7 2.24.401.1

This installation seems to complete without issues (but does seem to be extremely fast for a 1gb file) then just automatically goes into bootloader when the phone starts.
Should this zip install work with the following steps :

(bootloader) version: 0.5
(bootloader) version-bootloader: 2.49.0000
(bootloader) version-baseband: N/A
(bootloader) version-cpld: None
(bootloader) version-microp: None
(bootloader) version-main: 5.17.402.6
(bootloader) version-misc: PVT SHIP S-ON
(bootloader) serialno: HT3CKW900187
(bootloader) imei: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
(bootloader) meid: 00000000000000
(bootloader) product: m7cdug
(bootloader) platform: HBOOT-8064
(bootloader) modelid: PN0771000
(bootloader) cidnum: HTC__001
(bootloader) battery-status: good
(bootloader) battery-voltage: 3818mV
(bootloader) partition-layout: Generic
(bootloader) security: on
(bootloader) build-mode: SHIP
(bootloader) boot-mode: FASTBOOT
(bootloader) commitno-bootloader: dirty-1f512bb6
(bootloader) hbootpreupdate: 11
(bootloader) gencheckpt: 0

Thanks for your time - i hate asking when the information is out there , but after around 10 different roms, & days of trying i felt it was time to ask someone who actually knows what theyre doing who can no doubt tell me in seconds what im doing wrong.
