Rooted/Flashed VZW One still get Kitkat?

Does rooted and flashed Verizon One still get Kitkat when it comes out? Will it replace the current ROM?

I'm sure whatever ROM you're running will get updated to KitKat anyway. Possibly before KitKat is officially rolled out. So you would just flash that update. Plus, you won't get the ota for it when Verizon pushes it.

I rooted and flashed to Sense 5.5, but then did a wipe back to the stock OS because I liked it more (however, bootscreen is still the rooted screen). How can I make sure I get the OTA OS VZW puts up when the time comes? I don't want to have to manually update everything from now on...

You only get OTAs if you're running stock AFAIK.

You need stock recovery for otas to work properly. Even if you're on a stock ROM and get the ota notification, which is highly likely, it will just fail to install if you're running a custom recovery. I think there might be a way to get around that if you're s-off, but don't quote me on that.
