I went in this morning and picked up the One S at T-mo. I really like it so far. I had a Nexus One, so I'm getting used to ICS 4.0. I've been so used to Gingerbread, that I keep wanting to hit the Menu key but there isn't one haha. So far my apps have worked. I am just having trouble getting the phone to let me use Google Voice as my main Voice Mail number. But the speed is great. I was able to download a butt load of apps while I was talking on the phone (sound quality was great!). My only grip so far is that there isn't a case or screen protector out yet that I could immediately put on my phone. T-mobile didn't have any, well they had a clip on pouch, but I tried it out and even my little fingers had a hard time getting it out of the pouch. The only site I can find is Case-mate.com. I hate not having my phone protected. Hopefully in due time I can root this baby so I can remove the bloatware (but I have never rooted a phone...)

I like the hardware buttons (Like the N1), and it has a much better touch screen than my N1 which I was getting really frustrated with because every time I want to hit the space button I'd hit the letter "b".

Also right now you can trade your old smartphone in for $$ towards a new phone. I didn't do it because I didn't want to part with my Nexus One...:)

Oh and the HTC Sense 4.0 is pretty cool. I prefer Launcher Pro, but there is no lag in Sense.

oh...a huge CON for me also, is that the notification light, is itty bitty teeny weenie..... You can see it blink, but only when you're close to your phone. That is one thing I LOVED about my N1, the trackball would light up so bright I knew what kind of message I had from a distance.

Anyhow, What are your thoughts on it?

Im not getting that phone but went to give it a spin. Outstanding piece of hardware! If I was a tmobile customer that would be by my side now. I also checked out the one x att, also outstanding! Regardless of what people say about sd card removable battery, if they walk in due for an upgrade they will buy One!

I got the phone today, as an early upgrade plus, at a T-Mo store a block from my office. Took awhile because my old plan confused their system and they had to call Support but they finally sorted that out.

Anyway, this thing is very smooth and quick! That was my first thought. Also, although not as vivid as the One X is supposed to be, the screen looks wonderful to me and an improvement over my G2. And it's big enough for me - I actually have to stretch my hand quite a bit to hold it, which leads me to think anything bigger would be too big for me. I showed it to a few people in the office and the first thing they all said was that it was so thin! :)

Re: cases and screen protectors, my store had screen protectors and lots of choices for cases. They also had a buy 2 accessories, get one free deal so since I got the case and screen protectors, I also got a combo stylus/pen in the deal, even though I didn't really need one.

My voicemail is still going to Google Voice, I get notice in my email, although I don't get a voicemail notification in the bar. But then I haven't installed the Google Voice app yet, I suspect the notification will appear from that once I have installed it - will be re-downloading all my apps tonight when I have wi-fi.

Re: the trade-in rebate, they gave me an envelope and an extra receipt, but I actually had to generate the voucher and shipping label myself online at the trade-in site. Have my old Cliq all packaged up though and ready to go to the post office in the morning, hopefully my $100 will come sooner rather than later. :)

This phone is sick lol just picked it up today. A little worried about the blue around the camera scratching. Hopefully I don't regret getting a phone without a removable battery and sd

I was close pulling the trigger on this but got a run around from tmobile stores I went to for an upgrade I was given by cs over the phone. So said screw it and got a gnex unlocked instead. Hate all the run around I got. But have to agree. It is a sick device.

I can't wait to get the red and black version when it comes out in about two months (from what I heard at the t mobile store) for my birthday and give this one to my mom lol..or maybe there might be something newer and better out by than

I'll have to go check at another T-Mobile to see about a case and screen protector. I'm glad I got the one s instead of the gnex. I compared the size and this one s is big to me so the gnex would have been way too big.

I was able to purchase mine on Monday night so I've been using mine since then. Amazing piece of hardware! Definitely the best phone I've ever had. And for those worried about the battery - yesterday I was off the charger for 21 hours with a little over 2 hours of screen on time with all my accounts and weather syncing and updating every hour and I still had 24% battery remaining last night!

Picked one of these bad boys up today and loving it. Was a little worried about non removeable battery but Qualcomm S4 processor flies and is very energy efficient.

Coming from a MT4G is night and day!

I thought about waiting (and switching ) to ATT for the One X, but I get such a good discount from Tmobile because of the company i work for, I couldn't justify the jack in price for service. Besides, free hotspot and voice-to-text is a big plus.

With that said, I was the first one at the store this AM and they didn't even unpack the One yet. There was a line 10 deep and the tmobile clowns were entirely unprepared. After fumbling around, they quickly had a few up to play with and after about 45 seconds I said, "I'll get it".

First thing I did was install Go Launcher, mainly because I was so used to it, but also because I like the swipe-down gesture for notifications anywhere on the screen, not just from the top.

Initials impressions on battery life, I got the phone at 75% charge, went the whole day at work without charging (just to see), home now 11 hours later with 14% left. And that's with HEAVY internet, snooping, gaming, and syncing. Yeah, it wasn't a real productive day at work for me,lol.

Quick question, has anybody figured out how to screen capture yet??!

*edit* For SC, just hold down power button and tap the home button. :)

Thanks.

Not so, acually. I stacked the 2 devices together and the Gal Nexus is actually only a tad bit bigger. Very small difference. The reason why is because the Gal Nexus doesnt have capacitive buttons, so it saves space. 4.3 inches vs 4.65 is misleading when youre talking about capacitive vs screen.

I picked one up and so far I'm very impressed. I'm making the jump from the Evo 3D which was giving me problems lately. TThe biggest selling point for me was finally being able to get 4G service as Sprint doesnt have it in my area and wont for a while with the switch to LTE. But this phone is a nice upgrade from the 3D. I love ICS and Sense 4.0. Battery life, is something that I'll really be testing out. One bad thing is I don't get a signal in my office, so it'll be on airplane mode until i get off work, but so far...i'm loving it.

I downloaded the Google Voice app last night and I just wanted to confirm that even though the phone won't let you choose Google Voice as the default voicemail in the general phone settings (although it does appear as a choice), if you already had it set up on your number then it should still be good. The app functions as it should with regard to voicemail, including notification in the bar and in the app widget, and I also get my email notifications. Not sure what happens if you didn't previously have Google Voice as the default for voicemail though - probably won't be able to set that up right now, is my guess.

I got the google voice to work. I like it better than tmobiles voice to text.

Anyone else have their phones restart on its own. Mine did it this morning. I've also started using Launcher Pro..but it hasn't been updated in like a year and I've been seeing glitches...so that couuld be the problem too..

When u guys use the camera and change the effects do u hear the camera lense like kinda zoom in and out, make some sound?

When I am going through effects before I take a picture, yes, I hear the lens because it's trying to focus on objects.

When I am changing an effect on a picture from my gallery, no, I don't hear the camera make any noise.

Anyone coming from the Amaze 4G? I just got mine last week and I am still in the buyers remorse period and was thinking about this phone. Only problem is I have over 8GB of music on my SD card alone. I really feel 10gb is not enough for the phone. I also keep an extra battery for the Amaze incase it dies, which I enjoy.

I just feel once the Amaze gets the offical release of ICS, the amaze is still the better phone of the two. Thats if they can fix the battery life.

I had the amaze before this, and before I had the amaze I had the gs2. Don't be scared of the non removable sd card lol I'm sure half of the music you don't listen to anymore. I just saved my old 16gb sd and downloaded new music....it is a new year lol. Oh and if u return now ull be charged 50$ restocking fee cause t mobile doesnt make enough money O.o

I got one yesterday as well. It has been stable and fast. My only concern, coming from an Original Droid from 2009, is the display. I read a lot on my phone, both websites and books, and the text just looks kinda blurry (and not in a font smoothing way) due to the pentile display. It also doesn't get as bright as my 2009 phone. Yes, the battery life is 10 times better though, so I'll be playing with it over the next few weeks to see if this is something I can live with for 2+ years.

Being new to T-Mobile, I haven't been real impressed with my 4g data speeds though. I'm pretty far out from the major metro area, so I'll be testing it out in different areas as well to see if it can keep up with me as I move around.

Standby time really isn't the issue that people are concerned with nowadays, it's screen-on time. Sure, syncing multiple accounts affects battery, but 2 hours of screen-on time isn't very good. My One X gets me about 13 hours with 3.5 hours of screen-on time, syncing two twitter accounts, 2 GMail, Reddit, and a Hotmail account, alongside weather.
