On/Off button on phone won't work

So I dropped my phone by accident in water and now my on/off button won't work. As much as I push the button nothing happens. I have an HTC One S by the way. Anyone know what's going on with my phone??

Re: On/Off button on phone won't work

Before doing anything else, put the phone in a ziplock bag, and completely cover it with uncooked white rice. Make sure the phone is completely surrounded and covered by it. Suck all the air that you can out of the bag and leave it sealed up for at least 3 days without disturbing it. The water likely damaged the internal parts of your phone. Unfortunately the longer you wait before drying the phone in rice, the worse your chances of saving it are. Also don't take it out of the rice for a few days - just leave it alone.

Once the time is up, plug it into a charger and let it charge for an hour or so - hopefully it will come back alive for you! Good Luck!!
