Mine Just Arrived

Bought an unlocked V from Expansys-USA and it just arrived. Mine must have been destined for France since all the literature is in French. More importantly, it arrived with a discharged battery. So it will be later tonight before I can really take it for a drive.

FWIW, my initial impression is pretty neutral. It feels a little cheaper in my hand than expected. But the proof will be when I fire it up with my SIM.

No 3G / HSPA+ data. Just spent 2 hours with HTC and AT&T combined. I'll try Expansys in the morning. Otherwise, it will be RMA time.

Well, no one at HTC America, AT&T, or Expansys-USA could bring up 3G. The phone very well may have been defective because it took 3 or more resets before it would save a manually created APN. So, I got a RMA and returned it.

Overall, it seemed like a nice phone. I like Ice Cream and the phone was very responsive. But I never could shake a feeling that it was not as well made as my Inspire or even my Aria. I have no idea where I will look next. Thinking seriously now about a Nexus. . . Probably a Nexus.

As follow-up, I bought the Nexus. Yes, it is big, but overall I am really happy with everyother aspect. Much better than the V in terms of fit and finish.
