How much of the htc one X screen is actually usable

All of it. Capacitive buttons means no buttons on the screen itself.

Oh, the reason i aksed because reading the samsung nexus review i read somewhere only 4.3 inch were usuable. I had a samsung infuse and was having trouble handling the phone.

Exactly why i didn't want the galaxy nexus, just a waste of space to have the on screen buttons.

The on screen buttons go away when watching YouTube videos and other things.
