Buying from expansys

If i biy the unlocked version from expansys ( im on att btw) would att have any problems of me going to the corp store to deactivate my iphone and activate the one x? I also think they wont charge me anything as i didnt buy the phone from att so they cant charge me an activation fee. Is this correct?

I'm pretty sure they can charge the activation fee because you are activating a new phone, plain and simple. If you were activating a replacement device because of a problem with your old one then normally there is no charge.

When you just swap your already activated sim that you have in you iPhone, they cannot charge activation fee. If you have a regular sim card now and go to att store for a micro-sim card for your new one X, they might charge you. If you ask nicely, you could get away with it.

I already have a microsim due to me having a 4s and they charge activation fees if you buy from them. When i bought an old used focus and went to activate it they just activated it and deactivated my gs2 without any charges

I work for at&t and you will not get charged a activation fee or a fee for a microsim as long as you goto a corp store and not a authorized store.

why would u need to go to a store at all? Just take the sim out of the iPhone and put it in the One X. You don't need to call or go to AT&T for any reason.

Its starting to get ridiculous that there is still no news about this phone after it was announced at the end of february. It will be a total fail by At&T if sprint gets their version out first when AT&T said they had an exclusive in the US

So far were the only carrier to have the original version of the htc one x and every cariier is changeing it(sprint) or using the htc one s(tmobile). So any other carrier releasing the phone won't be as nice as ours and we should be getting ours april may, which is just my opinion and nothing ive heard.

Id go to att because one rep told me the iphone has a different name for its data plans and they had to change it before ( i had the 4s and sold it before)

Yeah you will need to put the LTE smarpthone without visual voicemail for your phone, but don't really need to change the sim cards.

Your right, you technically don't have to switch data plans but if you are grandfathered into unlimited data they will take you off the unlimited iphone and onto smartphone 3gb if you don't call up and do it.

True. Im not on unlimited Im on the 2gigs for the iphone. I heard the iphones data plan has a different name and ATT has to change it which is why I would go there. Idk I guess just to be safe =/

i guess you can if you want. I've been switching between iPhone 4s, Galaxy S2, Vivid, etc. etc. and now to the One X and I've yet to visit an AT&T Store. But if you'd like to go through hell be my guest! ;-)
