Is my camera broken? pleasw help

So I got my first one x a few days ago, and noticed that when I tried to use the camera, after a few seconds the app would close itself. Every time I reloaded it, it would close itself even faster than before. Finally it would only stay open for maybe half a second. Rebooted the phone and the same thing happened only when I managed to quickly press record the phone crashed and rebooted. Went to att and they gave me a new one. It was all good for a day but now it does the same thing, except it will stay open until I press the button to take a picture and then it closes itself. After doing this for a few minutes it does the same thing of closing itself immediately after I start the camera app. After several reboots I tried using the video recorder but it won't 't do anything the button says gray and it won't record. Anyone have this issue? Is it software related? Just need some advice before I go get a third one and set everything up again. Thanks in advance for any help.

try a hard reset.

I had the same issues. Just did a factory reset and all seems to be good so far. Only issue I see is you can't take photos or start video in landscape.

Actually none of the onscreen controls work in landscape.

So this is definitely a software thing and I should hold off on replacing it?

Why wouldn't you replace it are you still within your return period if so just do it. I have not seen anything about software updates.

I can. That's the way I take the majority of my pics and videos. I have had zero issues with my camera and camera software since I got the phone on launch day.
