Android Newb...

Hey all!! Fairly new to the whole Android phone scene, (had a Droid X several yrs. ago...did not go well). Have an HTC One X and so far, well...so good I have to say. I wanted to hear some opinions and advice on how to set-up my default config./profile on this phone in order to ensure best possible performance and experience, (such as ensuring optimal battery charge; what apps/programs to set up to autosync mode; how B/U process works, etc..). Most issues Ive had so far have been minor..such as weather animation at lock screen "Unavailable at this time" message appearing today, (fixing issue just required sync operation..hence my question regarding autosync and apps/programs). Anyway any info. would be helpful and appreciated. Flexibility of this platform is really great, (as opposed to Apple's rigid control mindset). Again thanks.
