Default Selecting youtube app from email?

In my previous android devices when I got an email with a youtube link embedded, I was able to select either the youtube app or the web to play it in and then make it a default.

How come on the X it automatically opens it up in the web where most of the time I get an error saying the video cannot play on the device. I would like to make the youtube app the default.

Anyone know how to change this?

somewhere along the lines you might have made that the default. It is easy to do. Go into settings, manage apps, click on browser then hit clear defaults. This clear up the issue

this is HTC's workaround to the Apple patent violation.
To fix it so you get a popup asking what app to open when you click on a link you need to do a couple of things
    1) Root your HTC One X
    2) use a root aware file manager like root explorer and rename htclinkifydispatcher.apk to htclinkifydispatcher.bak it is located in /system/app
    3) clear defaults for whatever browser you are using
    4) reboot your phone
