Reset Check for Update "timer"
as we are all waiting for the update that is supposed to come out the end of this month, I get a little giddy and want to constantly force my phone to check for updates. AT&T has that annoying function that allows you to only check once in 24 hours.
I remember back on my SGSII SR that there was an app that you could clear data on to reset that clock. Does anyone know what the app/process is? I looked through all apps and couldn't find one that rang a bell...i tried updater but that didn't work.
Thanks in advance! - 05-29-2012, 11:45 AM #2
I'd like to know this also. Anyone know?

Re: Reset Check for Update "timer"
I take the shot gun approach and Force stop / Clear data for each of the following: (some might be specific to my phone):
HTC Checkin Service
HTC COTA client (Some people disable this in settings, but it won't check for update if you do).
Updater
Then check using About Phone. No guarantees, because if your serial number isn't on the list YET, you don't get an update. Its that simple.Last edited by icebike; 11-19-2012 at 02:11 PM.
