    7@android:/ $ uptime: 5 days, 03:43:55, idle time: 2 days, 23:56:35, sleep time: 3 days, 09:49:44
    7@android:/ $

I used connectbot from the Play Store and connected to localhost, but the font is like microscopic.

Use "Android System Info" from the Play store. It's free.

In the phone, dial *#*#4636#*#* (it spells INFO )
Then select Battery information and the bottom entry will show Time Since Last Boot.

    No app required.
But Android System Info app is way cooler.

Use Uptime Widget. It'll display on your homescreen both the current up time and the longest one you've had. You can make it into a game almost.
