I'm not sure if anyone else has seen this page, but tech2 did a comparison of the burst modes of the One X and the Galaxy S3. The HOX appears to be the clear winner in burst mode shots. They came out pretty clear and with natural colors. Check it out for yourself:

Very interesting.
I have never even tried burst-mode yet, no real reason to do so, because the only time this would come to mind is when I know in advance that something fast is going to happen.

I have taken stills while shooting a movie a couple times. Doing so usually induces some motion into the shot as you stab at the shutter button, and messes up the movie a bit. However the quality is better than clipping a frame from the movie post production.
