Well everyone its been 30 days without an iPhone. Some didn't think I would make it. Hell, *I* didn't think I'd make it. But here we are with my one month review of my HTC One X - The best AT&T phone you can buy.

First lets start with the camera. This is probably one of the smartest point and shoots I've ever used. On its own the picture quality is amazing (the picture above was from the wife's HOX). But the fact that it takes pictures as long as you have the button mashed and will save the best shot by clarity and composition is a huge deal on a camera that is with you 24 and 7.

The android OS Ice Cream Sandwich works great. I'm still new to Androids but everything seems even more intuitive than iOS5. It really isn't until you are shown something better that you see how limited the Apple was.

That being said I'm 150% certain Apple will address this on the New Iphone but I don't see their screen being bigger than 4"...which brings me to the best part about this phone...

The screen. Oh man. Who knew that it could get better than the Retina Display? Well it can and this is. The Super AMOLEDs of the Samsungs are more saturated and contrasty (I just made that word) but this screen is simply gorgeous.

The launch version of this phone was super buggy but the first update and some updates to my favorite apps have confirmed that this J's the best phone for my needs.

If anyone was on the fence about switching, I'd take a hard look at this thing.

Nice review..

I am about to make the plunge from iOS to Android VERY soon and was in fact in the ATT store today playing around with the One X again. The challenge is that for some reason their AC plugs don't seem to be charging the battery, so I was continually getting some annoying error message. That said, when comparing the screen side by side with the G Note or Skyrocket, there is NO comparison. You can easily see the blue tint on white backgrounds with the Super AMOLED screen, while the HOX is bright white and clear.

Did you have help learning Andriod and how to master ICS?

Also, you're well aware of the WiFi and other issues with the HOX (no html links in emails etc), so you're saying the OTA 1.85 update resolved all of this? I really like the phone, how it feels in your hand, the screen and ICS as compared to the Sammy, though I do want to wait until the GS3 demo is out to do a final comparison. Am curious why you chose the One X and what other devices you were considering as well as where you bought yours. Car Toys has it for $119, but their return policies aren't like Amazon.

Thanks.

The 1.85 did fix all the WiFi issues. I also think that a lot of the problems were with the first batch of units.

I do get html links in email. The problem I found out is that the phone comes with the mail size limit to 5Kb and message format to plain text as default. Just change it to maximum size and HTML and that allows you to have link that you can click on or phone number that you can click and launch the dialer.

Links work fine, they just launch them differently then Apple does.

The WiFi issues have been resolved for a while now and only seemed to affect a small percentage of phones at launch.

I have the HOX but I may sell it to pickup the GS3 when it comes out, want to play with it in the store first.

I'm just over 30 days since switching to the One X from an iPhone. I think ICS is a much better OS and more intuitive in many ways. That being said, there will always be some adjustment period when switching.

I wasn't really considering any other devices at the time of my purchase. The One X is the only LTE at&t device with a camera that can hold its own, and more, against an iPhone 4s. The GS3 looks like it might be another option, but haven't seen enough camera comparisons to be sure if it would meet my needs. Plus, the One X screen is awesome and there is something off-putting about the way Samsung tries to emulate Apple (not trying to troll here.

One other thing... I'm on my 2nd one X, since my first one was stolen. One thing apple does right is the backup. You get a new iphone, sign in, restore from back up and it is exactly like the one you replaced. I am really missing that feature after spending the day trying to get my new phone as close as possible to my old one. Even with all that... All of my game progress and app data is mostly lost. I haven't experienced the WiFi bugs in either phone.

Good luck.

I see where I can change the mail size the maximum but I don't see the option to enable HTML...where is that option?

Open the stock mail app then menu>settings>Sync, Send, &Receive> Message format then you can select HTML over plain text

If I send myself a test email with a link it won't allow me to click on it when I view it on my HOX. Anyway to fix that?

There is, since ICS, if you're not avert to typing commands. No rooting required. At least on the Nexus phones, I haven't tried the adb backup commands with my One X yet...

Regardless it's not the same as apple's solution, but at least it's something that can backup apps and their data...

I have the AT&T version. Here are my screen shots to show you. Let me know if there are any questions.

I'm on at&t as well... my hotmail and gmail accounts give me the option of selecting HTML over plain text, but for my yahoo account the option isn't there.

I believe I added mine as Exchange. Try that and see if that works.

EDIT: I tried adding gmail as an imap and when I looked at settings it does not give me the options for html or plain text emails. I do think you have to added the accounts as exchange.
