When you see a article that starts out saying:

"It can have myriad negative implications for affected devices, including unsatisfactory Bluetooth capabilities, devastating battery life, and of course "poor to useless" WiFi "

You know you are not going to get a reliable report.

He is seeing the effects of cupping the phone with his hand, and the natural variation of wifi signal strength that can be caused by other phones and routers on the same frequency.

You won't see a constant signal strength even with the phone sitting untouched on the desk, let alone if you shield and un-shield it with your hands.

I've got the international version and this just does not happen. However, I can cup the phone in my hands and induce the same meter readings. Its bogus.

But in the video he is doing the opposite...bad signal no touchy... better with a squeeze. Sounds like a hardware issue with the contacts not making a good contact without a little pressure.

    Hi all,

I started the thread at xda that all the media reports refer too. It has had 80,000 views and 1,000 posts in around 2 week further showing the scale of the problem. In the thread it explains in detail the fault, the most probable cause of the problem (design flaw), an early Statement from HTC (still waiting on the full statement). The thread has many pictures and videos showing the issue in detail.

Please read this thread (link below)

The thread only relates to the international version.

I am glad your phone is ok, I really miss mine. Without my phone since the 29th now

I do have issues with the wifi......when I'm less that 5 feet away from the router, it does play up and fluctuate with signal readings. When Im in the bedroom....it just states it has no signal and it does lose the signal quite alot.

I have tried the best wifi option but its made no difference what so ever.

I have spoken to HTC and they havent come up with decent ideas other than doing a factory reset and then seeing if any of the apps I have downloaded are causing the problem......highly unlikely.

Hopefully a future update might sort this out.
