Spent a weekend with the sg3 before choosing the onex quad core. As mentioned the sg3 felt plastic, light, flimsy. Removing the back cover was a scary experience. Kept waiting for it to snap. The hox screen is better the feel of the phone is far superior. For me just a better overall experience. Zero issues with the phone. A happy camper.

Iphone 5 really needs to be a huge overhaul at this point to really impress me from my HOX, but can that be achieved within an update cycle? Seems unlikely, doesn't it?

I basically choose one x as I use the phone to read a lot. Mainly forum browsing with tapatalk, PDF and pub files. That's why screen clarity is important.

Cannnot stand screen on s2 thus I think for s3 will be the same. For iphone4 screen is too small for PDF reading.

The SG3 is the best phone I've ever owned. Not buying the SG3 because you read a lot of PDF files is ridiculous. You can read text equally well on the SG3 as any other phone. Anyone who thinks the difference in the screen between the HOX and the SG3 would prevent them from reading text is grasping at straws to defend the HOX. The SG3 multitasks flawlessly, is extremely fast, has an excellent camera and the gesture features are well thought out. You can take a screen shot by merely passing the edge of your hand on and over the screen. On the HOX I tested you had to push two buttons to take a screen shot. A minor point I know but an example of a better thought out UI. The stay awake feature has already proved a bonus while I've been showing the phone to friends. As far as being flimsy: that's a subjective issue: I find the SG3 perfectly solid for my less than careful handling. One only has to look at the number of complaints in the HOX forum and compare that to the lack of complaints in the SG3 forum to see the difference in phones. I highly suggest that if you can get the SG3 do so, you will not be disappointed. Anyone who is seriously considering an iPhone 5 won't be swayed by rational arguments so I won't try.

One has only to notice that the HOX has been on the market a lot longer than the GS3, which has only barely come out in some places, to realize that a lack of reported problems only signifies a lack of purchases, and not a lack of problems. In about 2-3 weeks it'll be different, since the GS3 will have started to penetrate on all the carriers.

The multi-tasking problem was discussed immediately when the HOX was released. Also, a quick review of the forum revealed a multi-tasking problem thread as far back as May 27th. The SG III was released in Europe May 29th and no issues approaching the HXO multi-tasking debacle have arisen.

May27 would be well after the HOX was released in the US. The GS3 has been available for two days on the smallest major carrier in the USA: T-Mobile. ANd at that it's only been available at "select retail outlets" which means most people haven't gotten them yet. So again, try making the comparison when the phone is actually available.

Removable battery on the S3 is honestly priceless. I'm not sure why HTC didn't make it removable on the One X. I love HTC phones and have been using them since the Touch was 'cool' but I would not buy the One X over the S3 solely because of the battery issue. Both are stellar phones. You could get the new iPhone but I believe you would be much more satisfied with the S3 or the One X. Just be certain the lack of a removable battery is something you can handle if you get the One X.

Honestly if you can wait for I the new iPhone I would do so. Just to see what it offers and by then if you waited that long then you should probably check into the new nexus device(s) to see the new features them. I'm pretty dissapointed I went with the skyrocket in January when I could have gotten the one x or s3 later on. I have learned that the more patient you are the better phone you will have. I'm kinda hoping that one of the nexus devices ends up on at&t just to see how at&t will handle "stock" android.

That's not immediate at all, I got my HOX on launch on Apr 5th.

It was nearly a month after release did the multi tasking get mentioned on the international version , and htc have stated its not broken, this is just how it works on the HOX.

I haven't had any problems, the fact the app has to refresh when you go back to it, doesn't effect anything.

The battery on the HOX is great, HTC wanted a one piece body for design aspects, maybe Samsung didn't want that, but it's still user preference.

Battery banks can still be plugged in anyway if you ever need a top up and not near an outlet.

I owned both the first 2 versions of the galaxyS series, and I never removed the battery or bought a 2nd one. - I understand some people might, but it's not something the majority of users will do.

So, based on that - a sexy, more premium-feel phone is for me the better option.

    .....

But, we are talking about large touch screen phones here, and the biggest feature of both is the screen, and the HOX is by far, the much better screen.

    Exactly,

The SGS3 users say the battery life is great, but feel the need to buy another to swap it out or extend it.

    .... DOH.

Since you obviously don't have a clue as to the availability of the SII you really don't have the tools necessary to discuss this.

I'm quite aware of the availability of the GS2, I thought we were talking about the GS3.

    AT&T: Galaxy S3 now available for pre-order.
T-Mobile: Galaxy S3 available online and in select retail outlets on 6/21
Verizon: Galaxy S3 shipping on 7/11, now available for pre-order
Sprint: Galaxy S3 preorder closed, listed as "coming soon."

    Any questions? No? Good.

It's very funny how you guys think the camera on the HOX and GS3 is better that. The iPhone 4s. I'm sorry but none of those camera come close to the iPhone 4s. With iPhone you just point and shoot. With the Android maybe if you download another camera app and tweak stuff you can get a comparable picture. But who has time for that? That's basically Apples game plan. Works from the box.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 was released May 29th in Europe and no complaints about multi tasking from that date to present. See what I mean about you being unprepared?

The HTC One X was available longer than this in Europe before multitasking complaints emerged. I'd suggest you stop making yourself look stupid.

You can always tell when someone is losing an argument, they become insulting. You said the SG III hadn't been around long enough for complaints to arise. I merely pointed out that it was around much longer than the dates you posted for the US release. Of course I am correct. Now try and be a little less insulting when and if you reply to this post.

Galaxy S3 gets my vote. Although it's hard to say as the iPhone 5 hasn't been officially announced. Knowing Apple, they might release an iPhone 4gs and make very minimal upgrades cause they know people will be dumb enough to pay for it.
