How to create Google Play Books shortcut?

I have Google Play Books installed on my One X (at least it appears as such in my list of installed applications), but it doesn?t appear as an application available if I click in the application menu button, regardless of the filter I use, not even searching for it. However, if I click on Google Search, the first thing that appears is Google Play Books, as well as the books which I have downloaded to my device. For now I am using this quirky workaround to open Google Play Books, but I would like to open the app as I do with any other.

Anybody knows how to create a standard shortcut or how to open Google Play Books in the standard way?

Thanks!

I dont get why you dont have one? Mine is there in the menu.....

I don't get it either... The app is preinstalled (cannot remove it to install it again) and, as can be seen in the screenshots below, it is installed and shows as such, but is not part of the apps list.

For what it's worth, I have the same problem. to get a book from my nook or kindle apps, I just go to the app and open the book. for a google play book, I open the play app, then go to books, then go to my books and then click on the book I want to read. it's not the end of the world, but wouldn't it be nice if I could save the book with a short cut somewhere, but so far I've not found a way of doing that.
