A few questions about my at&t HOX
1. My device is rooted with the bootloader locked, is nandroid backup only for devices with unlocked bootloaders? When ever I "attempt" a backup it gives me first a green symbol, then a red.
2. Why is it when I try and save a picture sent to me via mms, it doesn't save and asks me to insert an sd card? I have about 6gb of memory still available and obviously, this phone doesn't have an sd slot.
3. Has anyone else experienced text message font re sizing by itself? It doesn't stay at the size I set it at. Any known fixes?

I have rom toolbox pro and just messing around with that, scrolled over to the interface section and noticed I can change font, status bar icons, notification background. I was able to change the font but nothing else.
I'm not really interested in flashing. I like sense 4, just wanted to be able make minor changes like my wifi icon, battery icon, and notification theme. But I get the impression that's not possible without flashing.

That's correct. You will have to flash those changes. There are other ways but they are far more complicated. If you like your stock look and feel, I would not mess around it. If not, you can try the sense base ROMs like CleanROM.

Well, I've been thinking about the idea of flashing cleanROM if it could enhance the multitasking. Now me already being rooted, if I decided to unlock the bootloader, could I use just any method on xda? Really don't want to screw up and brick my phone lol

Re: A few questions about my at&t HOX
CleanROM is essentially stock with bloat removed, and some minor tweaks. It IS stock, from a performance perspective, with minor gains due to bloat removal. There are other features too, but if performance is your focus, you can't go wrong going from stock to CleanROM. You are also not going to notice an improvement (in performance).
Unless of course you overclock, which is doable easily with CleanROM... in which case you might notice an improvement in speed.Thanked by: - 07-23-2012, 06:11 PM

Thanks for breaking it down. Like I said before, I'm new to this, never flashed before so I'm trying to find out everything I need before I make a decision of wether or not it's worth the risk to me.
As of now I don't have the knowledge or the confidence to unlock and flash. But you guys are being very helpful and I appreciate your input.
