How is the hox for its recharge times, I know the iPhone is ultra quick - older htc and Samsung phones were slow as moloaslas. Are the new ones any better?

I haven't really kept track of how long it takes to charge, but I know it's not as fast as the iPhone

I have a two amp charger. Its pretty fast. I think under two hours. But that is to full charge, and I don't always worry about that.

I use to run Battery Left. It would tell you charge time left as well as run time left.

Then I found out that Battery Left, and some of the others will use battery just testing battery state. Since I'm already getting easily 24 hours, I've stopped fretting about battery, and just charge it when I can.

Does using a charger with a higher amp than the HOX affect the battery in any way?

No, the phone will only draw what it can handle. Many docks can provide more than one amp, especially car docks.
