ATT HOX not compatible with google wallet?

I just tried to download Google Wallet and got a "not compatible" message. Is that right. I'm sure I've got NFC.....
Is there a way around this?

Not that I'm aware of. AT&T blocked Google wallet since they are developing their own mobile payment app in the future.

i think you can sitll install the apk if you want it but sounds like a hassel to keep track of all the updates and such

If you to to Google Wallet site it shows the devices that support it and the only one on ATT is the GS3 from the list.

You can install it on an international HOX, but it still won't run.

What part of this depends on anything from AT&T?
Why should they be able to prevent something from running which only uses Data?

I think AT&T is controlling the traffic to it from specific phones thats the only way they can block it to my knowledge

Can't be that, because it won't even work on airplane mode with wifi turned on.
