Giving up on Android and HTC
Had the one x since June purchased at full retail phone had been great up until this past week now text messages are not coming through and people are calling me and my phone never rings I take the sim out put it into the lumia 900 and calls come through and text messages now I am stuck with a phone that can't do what it should. This is my second HTC android phone and third android phone overall it's always something with these. I can deal with frozen screens but when my wife and kids call and I never get it on my end and they text and it doesn't come through its time to end it.

Re: Giving up on Android and HTC
Any buzz on if other users on your carrier are having issues? I assume your family also is with the same carrier, and if so, do they also use Android devices?
I am sure that I am not the only one that would hate to see you are having issues that are causing you to rethink being an Android user, but I can understand your frustration.
Ever try a Samsung, or Motorola Android device? - 08-20-2012, 07:56 PM

We are all on att never had this issue before seems to be the phone my daughters get text messages yet when she responded back to me I got nothing until after I did a restart then 5 text messages and two missed calls showed up yet my phone never rang or alerted Me. I put my sim in my other phone the lumia 900 and did the same text and Call and they all came through so not sure what's app and att support siad there are no issues being reported.

Re: Giving up on Android and HTC
Is your device rooted? I have had problems like that in the past and I figured it was likely due to being rooted. Maybe it was the reason, and maybe not.
I agree that it defeats the point of a phone if I cannot get incoming messages and calls.
Hope something good comes out of this for you. - 08-20-2012, 08:32 PM

Re: Giving up on Android and HTC
Maybe take a look at any new apps you have installed and test to see if any new, or updated, apps could have caused the issue.
Not sure if this would be your problem, but it is something I would take a look at if it were me. - 08-20-2012, 08:41 PM #7
I've experienced this once also. My brother who uses an iPhone said he called me, it rang, then went to voice mail but I didn't receive the call or any notification. I've only experienced this once and it doesn't happen on demand, I've tried to duplicate it. All I did was do a reboot and hope for the best. Hasn't happened since that I know of.

Re: Giving up on Android and HTC
could be an app gone wild or try a factory reset and see if that clears it up...

Yeah, I'm sick of the GPS problems on my Sprint Samsung GS2 and all the work that keeping it up to date takes. I'll be switching to iPhone soon. While iOS 6 is no revolution, the maps and Facebook integration were the two things I was waiting for. I'm so ready to have something that "just works" or I can go down the street to the apple store and have them sort me out.

The no calls and texts going out or conning in happened to me. Issues with the sum card reader.
Swap it out. The only solution. You're still under the 1yr warranty.

when you say I did something wrong to my phone what do you mean? All I did was cut it on and it won't receive calls or text messages and the reason I hinted at blaming HTC was that its happened before with the titan and inspire that I owned don't troll dude its really silly
