Why no Sense 4.1 for U.S. One X?
*edit - U.S. One X*
I've noticed that international One Xs have received Sense 4.1 with the 4.0.4 update. And now U.S. variants (Sprint's EVO 4G LTE) are getting Sense 4.1. Why is AT&T's One X not getting it - the carrier delaying it? - 08-29-2012, 09:36 AM #2

I was wondering about this as well, and I'd say it's probably something to do with AT&T. Maybe they're holding off on Sense 4.1 until they have Isis working? Otherwise, I'm stumped as well.

Isis is a payment system that 3/4 major US carriers (Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile) want to use in direct competition to Google Wallet. Sprint is the only major US carrier that has officially allowed Google Wallet on their phones, and also the only one that is allowing Sense 4.1 right now (I think, the One S on T-Mo may be rocking it, but I'm not sure).

Re: Why no Sense 4.1 for U.S. One X?
I don't think so. Honestly, the stuff that everyone says is in Sense 4.1 is showing up on my HOX with 4.0.4 but it's showing Sense 4.0. The main thing I'm happy about is the ability to long press recent apps and get the menu for an app, which is suppose to be part of Sense 4.1 but I have that ability on my US HOX with Sense 4.0. So, in short, I'm not so sure?

Yea, that small update regarding the recent apps button came around August 3rd to the At&t One X without Sense 4.1. Though there are some other differences apparently with Sense 4.1, including better battery life (5 hours screen-on time opposed to 3 hours), speedier performance due to the removal of some 3D animations, less lag when using live wallpapers, and quick access to toggle controls from pull-down menu. I'm definitely looking forward to this update, hopefully att rolls it out soon.

Very sad indeed. Samsung finally got it right by giving their flagship phone the same name/design on all major U.S. carriers (and global for that matter). HTC needs to not only continue making great hardware and fine tuning Sense, but also get their distribution methods and carrier support in check or else they will fade into irrelevance.

And who do you think talked those major carriers into holding back on the HTC One?
Samsung is not all sweetness and light in this market. They are the 800 pound gorilla, with pockets full of cash that arrives in the carriers front offices, two minutes after the HTC salesman leaves.
