I just got my One X today, so I'm new to 4G. After getting home and being in WiFi, it says (via icon) that I'm conneted to 4G and WiFi. In the settings it says I'm connected to WiFi. Am I using the 4G and using my data? Or does the WiFi over-power it?

When connected to wifi, most phones will only connect to 4g cellular service when certain types of data are used, like system updates from the carrier and i believe multimedia messaging uses it, too. Also, my GS3 will use cellular when trying to get a GPS fix for triangulation.

Other than that, most other data should default to the wifi.

Note2 or Note10, that is the question

I had the same confusion when I first got the one x,my old phones only showed the type of data connection that was in use. The one x leaves the 4g to show you the type of signal even when connected to WiFi,but if you are connected to WiFi the one x won't use your data unless its like a system update or something, everything else data wise will be over WiFi.

Sent from my awesome HTC one x:)
