Question about sending a text message to many people at once

If I send a message to several people at once, does everyone see who i sent it to? And also, will it become like a group chat where everyone replies to everyone else

No and no. If you want group text you will need a third party app like handcent

If you go into text messaging menu there is an option for group messaging

Yes you can do that but it is not the group messaging he is looking for. It will not keep them all in one thread.
