MHL adapter problem

hi folks i got a MHL adapter so i could watch movies off my phone in hd on my tv, it works in a way that i can play games look at photos ect but cant watch videos all i get is sound and no picture even ones that i have recorded my self on my one x, does anybody know anything about this that can help?:'(

You are powering the MHL adapter right? (Lot of people forget that).

I've played with MHL to HDMI, and found it worked, but I haven't played with it lately.

What movie player are you using, Stock? or something else
