Super irritating

I have one issue with this phone. When I'm using the stock music player it gives you a back arrow in the top left of the screen. How come when I press that it takes me all the way back to the home part of the app instead of just taking me back to the play list I'm playing or the songs menu? It did it once for me before now I can't figure out why I can't set it like that permanently. And I do not like any of the other music players on the market so don't suggest that
