Htc One X unlock

Hi,

can someone please tell me how can i unlock Htc One X locked to O2 Uk network ?

and does this below works ?

1. Note IMEI *#06#
2. adb shell
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p6 of=/sdcard/mmcp6.dump
3. Open mmcp6.dump on SDCARD
4. Look for in this file your IMEI
5. Just in front of your IMEI a 8-digit code which corresponds to the unlock code
6. Switch off your HTC One X and insert a Sim of another operator
7. Type Unlock code obtained before

Depending where you live, unlocking can be easy or tricky. Here in the United States, it is illegal to unlock your phone from a third party service. I don't know about your area, but you could try calling O2 directly to see if they can provide you with an unlock code. As for the method you provided above, I need the source of where you got this from to verify.
