HTC ONE X problems with sync, not allowing me to use internet

The sync icon is displaying at the top of my screen and I am unathe internet, at all.... when I go into accounts and sync on my phone, a message pops up saying sync is currently ecing problems and will be running again soon. It has been saying this since yesterday afternoon. Im very frustrated!!!

Welcome to Android Central! Does this happen on both wi-fi and mobile data? Are you able to access the web successfully using the browser or other apps, and only the sync is having problems?
