Default Will HTC actually be any different this time around?

I know everyone gets excited about a new phone....
but all I can keep thinking is....
    1. Software issues
    2. terrible tech support
    3. late updates
    4. locked down bootloader (making it hard to Root and flash)
    5. all carriers making everything worse
    6. and finally dissatisfied customers because it didn't live up to the hype

    anyone else skeptic? thoughts?
Why do I always want a new phone or tablet??? I have issues.

Well.... from what I have read.... this is the ONLY pbone HTC is releasing for a good part of the year. They are allegedly putting all their resources behind this phone. Critics are saying that this next phone will either make or break HTC. I really don't know how true that is.

Well since I am an owner of the One S...
I sure hope HTC gets it right this time... not for my sake, but for there own. I dont want to see them fail as a company since they were the ones that even gave android a chance in the first place. Its just hard to look past the last three years of crappy phones/support/updates etc.

Who's a glowing representation of tech support in the Android OEM space?

Not as relevant on non-Nexus devices. Also - carrier dependent as well.

Irrelevant to the majority of the public that purchases this device.

You're pretty much going to have some sort of carrier interference (i.e. carrier bloatware) even if it's pretty much the same phone across multiple carriers. See Galaxy S3.

1.well the One S has countless issues. Multitasking was a joke and couldn't remember more then two applications open. Wifi was iffy (when it wanted to work it would) and wifi calling was terrible with horrible call quality. just go read the forums on the issues I guess.

    2. When HTC is blaming everything on Tmobile and Tmobile is blaming everything on them.... that should be a red flag what I call a Fuster Cluck.

    3. its been 9 months and the One S is still on ICS.... Some people actually care about updates. and that includes me.... I hate spending 600 bucks so I can get left in the dust.

    4. I agree. If HTC actually updates the phone as promised... then there will be no need to Root. Especially to the main population. but for the select few... it still sucks royally

    6. and my expectations are very high... I know this sounds weird but my friend wants to get this phone... and they are a huge apple fan. Always used an iphone and decided he wants to switch... I find myself making excuses for this phone already and its not even out. telling him so he wont get let down by HTC the way I was with the One S.

(btw) I have been using android since the first day the G1 came out and have not used any other OS.

Maybe it's just a phone specific thing. I really haven't had any major problems with my One X. Finally got the JB update today, but I'm not that mad at HTC for it (mad at at&t).

    and come on guys....
Im not trying to get teamed up against...
can you really blame me for being skeptic for past experience? I like all the optimism... but I choose to be a pessimistic until I see improvement from HTC.
I was simply asking if anyone else sees my point of view?

Broken record here....if you care about software updates then get a Nexus. No other device is guaranteed to get any update ever.

Even with all the HTC woes their phones always have a solid build. To me that's important.
