Anyone else having this problem? I have swype installed and set as my default keyboard. If I reboot the phone it always goes back to the default HTC keyboard and I have to go through the swype setup again. I have the newest version of swype that was in the playstore.

I think it's an issue with 4.1, I had the exact same issue when I had the Note 2. From what I was able to figure out is that it only does it with a paid keyboard, not a free/beta one so maybe give that a shot? I hope this helps they push 4.2 out quicker!

Hard to believe but 2 MONTHS after the OP...this is still an issue.

Thankfully, I don't reboot very often but rather than going through the Swype set up again, you just have to open a text field (such as an sms) and in the notification bar you'll see a keyboard icon appear... Just drag it down and choose Swype for your input method, stays the same until the next reboot :(

This is a Google/Android issue affecting all paid keyboards. Swiftkey says it has to do with where Google Play puts paid apps. They say JB 4.2 fixes it, but who knows when that update gets pushed out. Until then, using the pull down to rechoose your keyboard after a reboot is the only option.
