    Default Android 4.4 ROM

I have a rooted HTC One which is unlocked and I currently have custom ROM "ViperOne" installed which is Android 4.3 coupled with Sense 5.5.
I've been wanting a change and I have been into the pure android experience so I was wondering could anyone please recommend to me a ROM which is essentially Android 4.4 (Ideally the google play edition of the HTC One). I am running clockwork mod recovery. This might also sound stupid on my part but can also please tell me how I can back up my current ROM in case I want switch back !
P.S How do I get the functionality of my IR blaster back (As Android 4.4 won't

    That's a 4.4 ROM coupled with Sense 5.5
Not sure how to do backup ROMs on CWM mod but if you use TWRP you can make a nandroid backup and you can restore it at any time
Everything in this post is 100% accurate...I think

The ROM you've shown has Sense 5.5 as well, I wanted pure android 4.4, ideally ported over from the Google Play Edition HTC One
If I make a change from CWM to TWRP will that effect my phone in any way ?! I.e will data be lost ?!

I don't think you lose any data since all you're doing is changing the recovery.
is a GPE ROM for the HTC One
You didn't mention what carrier you were on, but that one only works for AT&T, T-Mo, unlocked and International

Nope, the GPE is stock Android so there is no skins whatsoever

^^ (XDA link) a bunch of good ROMs available.

is based on the Google Play edition version of 4.4, so that might be what you're looking for. Also, don't forget to flash the TRWP 2.6.3.3 recovery, if you don't have it. I didn't bother reading the instructions properly and bricked my phone. Took me a little while to sort things out again.

Yes, the first one had it but the second ROM is a GPE edition, so it's as close to stock Android as you can get.

Only the first link (The ROM with sense) was from XDA. This one is from htconeroot.om

I embedded the link into the word "this" in my second post maybe that's why you didn't see it

Hehe, no worries. Like I said, you can make backups on your custom recovery and restore them at any time so you can try both and it wouldn't be difficult to switch between them

Thanks, I've chosen which ROM I intend to flash but it says it requires CWM V6.0.4.5 and I have a V6.0.3.1 and I'm not sure on how to upgrade it, I was wondering if I change my recovery to TWRP would that wipe my phone ?!

I'm not 100% sure but I don't think it does. I'd look for a definitive answer first though.
Then you could just flash the TWRP zip using CWM lol
