Default Sprint HTC One into Google Play Edition

Had a question is it possible to turn your Sprint HTC One into a Google Play edition running kit Kat 4.4.2? And second question I've seen YouTube on how to turn your sprint into a Google Play Edition does it remove all your apps and photos and contacts or do you have to back them up?

As far as I knew, no you couldn't do it. I would guess the ROM you saw is a ported one, and I rarely trust those.

Although a better option may be to flash CM.

You'll need to install a ROM as suggested by Golfdriver. Check through the source thread and make sure everything is working and what you need to do to prepare the device for the update. Also understand the process of restoring the device to stock if you no longer want the port. You'll have to be rooted if you have not already done so.

A lot of the 4.4.2 roms require s off so don't get caught out there and always make a backup whatever you do. It will save you some heartache down the line, I unfortunately have learnt the hard way on more than one occasion.
