Transferring music

Hello all,
I would like to transfer music from my HTC ONE to my MacBook Pro, I tried Android File Transfer but it keeps telling me to connect my device even though it was connected, Has anyone ant recommendations for easy transfer....Thanks.
EDIT- Sorry my phone isn't M8....Just HTC ONE.

I found that Double Twist kind of worked, I say kind of because it won't add music bought in Google play, That defeats the object as its this music i want to transfer.

If you want Google Play music on your PC/Mac why not use the Google Play Music Manager directly on there instead of trying to get it off your phone?
